When you share a link in Google Drive, your recipient needs to visit the URL and click a Download button to save a copy of the file. There is no option to share direct download links, but you can fix this by visiting Direct Link Creator (directlink.booogle.net) and granting the website access to your Google Drive. When you pick up a file from the top dialog box, simply click 'Share all and get direct links' and it will generate direct URLs for all the files you selected.
Direct download links have all kinds of advantages, particularly if you want to add Drive files to the web page or forum. If you want to stop sharing any of the files, simply select them again and click unshare all.
